PC Pro CES 2013 Greatest HitsWith the world’s largest consumer electronics show only three weeks away, we can unveil something new of our own: PC Pro’s Greatest Hits of CES 2013.

It’s our pick of the best technologies on show at the event. Ten products will walk away with a Greatest Hits award, and as ever we’re looking for our readers’ help in picking the winners.

If you see a product that you think deserves to be considered, then make a comment on this blog by midnight Tuesday 8 January (UK time).

In addition to six products earning the Greatest Hits accolade, we’re giving away four awards for specific categories:

Best Tablet: We’re expecting a flurry of new tablets at CES, using Windows RT, Windows 8 and Android. Let us know your favourite via the comments below.

One to watch: Samsung has promised “something new”, and we’re optimistic this could be a tablet as well as the Samsung Galaxy S 4 smartphone. Not that this video is giving much away:

Best Laptop: With Asus, Samsung and Sony all likely to make announcements at the show, we’re confident there will be hot competition.

One to watch: Asus steals a march on the rest by having its press conference on Sunday 6 January (10pm UK time) and it’s also promising a “product showroom” at Las Vegas’ Trump Hotel. We expect great things.

Best Phone: Again it’s Windows and Android that are likely to be powering the hottest new devices, but we’re happy to be surprised by an alternative.

One to watch: Sony is gradually building its phone momentum, and we’re quietly optimistic that it will use its big CES press conference – usually packed with celebrities as well as announcements – to unveil a phone as well as laptops, tablets and TVs. We’ll be reporting from the press conference on Monday 7 January, which kicks off at 5pm local time and 1am Tuesday 8 January UK time.

Best Innovation: There are always great new technologies at CES, and we’re enlisting the help of PC Pro’s own Jon Honeyball to help decide the winner of this category.

One to watch: Liquipel’s clever liquid-repellant coating promises to make gadgets “watersafe” and “longer lasting”, and in its pre-CES hype it says: “Liquipel will be unveiling exciting new advancements and technology that will again set the world of mobile devices and consumer electronics on fire”. We’re hoping the mention of fire is literal.
